Sadia Siddiqui is the founder and event director of Fashion Parade, a unique fashion event that features runway shows from five Pakistani and Indian fashion designers. This event is aimed at an international audience in efforts to create awareness about South Asian fashion, art, and culture through the fusion of traditional customs with modern trends. Founded in the United Kingdom in 2013, Fashion Parade is showing for the first time in the United States, at Christie’s New York on August 27th, 2019, continuing the celebration and promotion of South Asian designers to a global audience.
Fashion Parade hopes to change the narrative and perceptions toward fashion designers in South Asia, who are exceptionally talented but not well-known in the West. This year’s designers include five South Asian designers, Ali Xeeshan, Elan, Delhi Vintage Co., Faiza Samee, and Kamiar Rokni.
